cycling to work

Post by saint-spoon »

After a break of a few years due to my job(s) not being conducive to cycling to work (one of them involved working in Vietnam, Djibouti and Holland (where I did do a bit of cycling)), I have got back on my bike and now do the 4 miles to and from work at least four times a week; the fifth day it does depend on whether I need to bring anything in or not. Fortunately work has showers and a changing room so no problems about using the ride as a bit of a workout.

I really do think that the government should do more to encourage cycling, the cycle paths are pretty rubbish and public transport doesn’t seem to be very cycle friendly, not like it was when I was a child and you could hop into the cycle carriage with you bike no problems.

I used to cycle to work ( 7 miles there and back) when I was in my late 20's.
We did have bikes and cycled around here, around the cycling area's, until the accident.
But I don't think I would like to cycle on the roads now.

If you can't be a good example........
you will just have to be a horrible warning

I haven't cycled in years and like Wendy when I look at the amount of traffic on the roads I am unlikely to start anytime soon. Take care, SS.
