Excellent NHS service

Post by Richard »

I thought I'd just get a letter about my forthcoming Op, so I was surprised when, at 4pm today, I got a phone call from the Secretary of Consultant Surgeon BlaBla asking if I could choose from 3 dates for the treatment.

The first date she gave, I asked her if I'd be able to go away two days later as I'd planned a trip with Leo to the Somme for 5 days. She said I wouldn't be allowed to drive, so we made it the following Saturday.
As I was going away, she said she would ask their Team to contact me so I could have all the preliminaries done before I went away (I go in the morning after I get back).

Now the icing on the cake is, that although I'm NHS, I'm going into a Private Hospital in Hythe. I know it and it's a lovely building with sea views!!
Sometimes things just work out don't they ! Guess they know I'm big round these parts.

So, it's Saturday May 23rd., but as my Postman is still receiving treatment for a hernia after carrying my birthday post a few weeks back, PLEASE do not send cards (cheques are OK though).

I have always had good treatment and been seen within a couple of weeks at our local hospital. Spencer also had to go to the local BUPA when he had his arthrothscopy [s] alright for some eh?
Not long now and it will be better.

That's really good news Richard - the same happened to me - they were clearing the NHS waiting list by using a private hospital. It was like a stay in a hotel!

Hope all goes well. (f+
