Alpaca fleece

Post by seahorse »

Finding ways to use up 4 Alpaca fleeces isnt easy. I havent got the spinning wheel yet but made a small quantity of felt at the weekend. I used Rupert's wool as he is a gorgeous winter white, carded it and followed instructions from utube. As it was a bit thin in places , I cut the felt into 4inch squares and patchworked them together to make a very hippy beanie. I used an old fabric belt for the hat band ....my first attempt and it is wearable. Lord knows what the first jumper will be like but I'm a long way from that yet (f+

I will try and get mr seahorse to take my pic, the spinning wheel is here and I have spun 2 reels of white fleece, a bit lumpy but my first atempt. The fluff gets everywhere and the cat is showing worrying interest in the wool
