Easy bag to make

Post by Meanqueen »

I've just knocked this bag together, it was dead easy. I got the fabric sample from the Scrapstore yesterday, and I will take the bag back for their display, in the hope it might inspire others to try it. There are more pics on my blog and how to make it. Briefly you need two pieces of fabric about 12 inches square, some fabric for the lining, a bit of wadding, and a button.

Yes, it would make a great Christmas pressie. )t'

Have you thought about making co-ordinating things too....? Perhaps something like a hat? Or a brooch?

That's an idea Helen, hadn't thought of that, as nothing in my wardrobe is co ordinated. I could make a brooch, not sure about a hat though, never tried. Perhaps a purse to match.

The bag is beautiful Meanqueen! If I still had my shop, and would definitely have ordered some from you. It looks so very well made. You really are very clever!:-D

The bags would make lovely presents, and you could also use them to put other presents in to save all that wasteful wrapping paper!

A wooden bag....hhmmmm, now that's an idea for my pallets. I think a man bag is generally called a tool box, or a kit bag, or a pouch of some sort. )grin2(

Your bag is lovely :-D I've not sewn for a couple of years (not since my daughter's prom dress which was so much work that I vowed never to make a dress again!!)
My Mum gave me her machine a couple of months ago, I think I may have to get it out and make one or two of those bags :-D
