Another use for Jam jars

Post by ma larkin »

Over the weekend in between looking after Eggberta, I have been making what I am calling my 'Jam Jar Bonnets!!'

They can be filled with homemade fudge, sweets etc, and then the tops can be used as pin cushions and the jars to store cotton reels, buttons and pins! A little bit early to be thinking about Christmas presents, but Easter is just around the corner.

They are brilliant, will you be selling them? I have been pickling eggs in Kenco coffee jars, just little gifts for friends, they hold about 5 eggs, they would look eggcellent with one of those on, you are so clever! )t'

How pretty. Easter Bonnets.
I can see that any craft fair in the land, near one of our more nimble fingered members will have a stall selling them.

Brings back childhood memories. Our church had a Sale-of-Work, my mother used to decorate jars with transfers, and fill them with Dolly Mixtures, or Bath Salts. And she set us to make them for Christmas presents for aunts.
Bath Salts from Woolies were fairly cheap, lurid colours and smelly. Don't know if anyone used them, after they'd been given them.

Thank you everyone :-D

They would look fab on top of pickled egg jars Perchy! Go for it! Try and make some!! :-D

To make the 'dome' I use lots of wadding Jen stuffed into a circle of fabric.

I have already got a couple orders for them! I am really pleased :-D :-D
