When I came to stitch it up I realised it was completely 'skew-wiff' so gave up on it. In the meantime I have knitted a SANDS blanket (stillbirth and neonatal death society), it was quite a challenge, the knitted middle is 20 inch square and knitted from corner to corner starting with one stitch and increasing one at the start of every row till the edge measures 20" then decrease each row till back down to one stitch! You then have to knit the lacy edging and sew it on. Took quite a few hours but I am pleased with the result and that it is finished!

That is very clever of both of you Wendy and Kate, and how amazing that your blind friend can knit so well.

Puts me to shame. :oops:

Thank you both, I was given a lot of wool, including about 8 balls of cream 2-ply, I don't DO 2-ply so decided to double it up to make DK and knit the SANDS blanket, made it a bit more tricky having to use two strands all the time but probably knitted up a lot quicker!

I've just finished this as part of a Knit-A-Long on another forum. It's going to be my Mum's birthday present :-D Image
Sorry about the rubbish photo - I'm using the camera on my mobile 'phone at the moment, while I wait for a new lens to arrive for my 'proper' camera.

I am busy knitting Teddies for Tragedy to be taken out to Cambodia, they need to be at LH HQ by beginning of Spetember, I have done 5 in the last week and halfway through the 6th! They are aiming for 1,000 - well I am doing my best but hope there are plenty of other knitters knitting {rofwl}

Wendy if you have the patience to knit those beautiful jackets then these would be a doddle! It's great fun chosing the colours as they like them nice and bright, they aren't really fiddly as they are 10" tall, the fiddliest bit is the face and sewing up, the arms are knitted by picking up stitches either side of the body which makes them nice and secure.
