I had planned a jolly out on my bike today with a girl pal or two ... and it's bloomin pouring down :( I'm not a fair weather biker, but even I'm not setting off in a monsoon. Oh well .... will go and talk to my chickens instead!!

Have just recently got my scooter back on the road after leaving it in the garage for a few years. Had a small bit of work done on it, one of the side panels and mudguard fixed up/resprayed after going down the road sideways.

Oh, look at all those great bikes. I would love to learn to ride one, but I really think I'd struggle with the gears. I used to have a mountain bike and I couldn't even manage the gears on that, not even when my husband wrote on the handlebars. So I'd have no chance with an actual motorbike.
I'd consider a scooter but I would embarrass myself and everybody else. Children would point and laugh (you don't see many as cool as k66yla's). And I couldn't go out with my husband, who does track days and everything. I will just have to stick to riding pillion, terrified, and having to close my eyes when he overtakes.

If you really wanted to give motorcycling a go (it is much better being in control, rather than a pillion :) ), then there is a scheme called Get On

It's free, why not give it a go :D
