Sock Monkeys!

Post by Meg »

Does anyone else make sock monkeys? I have just finished my second one. The firstwas just a trial one with button eyes and not stuffed enough! But the second one I finished on Friday, I am really pleased with. He's made from a fleecy type pair of socks and stuffed alot so he is really firm. I have just added a photo on my blog. The arms move and he has hair!!! Lol. He makes me snigger every time I look at him. He reminds me of a tweeny though, rather than a monkey!! Feedback please...monkey or tweeny?

Lol so its not just me then that thinks he might be a wannabe tweeny :-D I do like him though.

Sock monkey tutorial that I used (loosely)is this one http://www.web-goddess.org/writing/tutorial/Image0.html

Yes the fox family are gorgeous aren't they {hug} The Mum and baby were back in the garden this morning actually, but that's not surprising with the racket the hens were making in protest to the newcomers! Every fox for 10 miles around would have heard them.

When you see all those hens together like that it really brings home how bad battery farming is doesn't it {cry}

I made some more sock monkeys for DH and my kids (included is the blue one) I really love the way the leopard skin one came out. Thats for my DH, to be holding a bottle of his favourite brandy.

I have also posted a photo on my blog of a sock monkey made out of a pair of my daughters old tights :-D

I think it's the hair that turns him into a tweeny. the balerina is definitely monkey. I like the individual touches you've given them.
But any socks in our household that aren't being worn are past being made into monkeys (though it's quite often the toes that go and I see you throw the toes away)
