Ooooh, a bit o' leather!Ooooh, a bit o' leather!Hmm, photos are dodgy, had to use the phone, but here's my take on an old Arran style pouch. (Needs a longer thong, this one broke lol.)
I had a few decorative turquoise rivets and the celtic knot thingy left from the last time I did leatherwork, so I bunged one of them on the front to tart it up a bit :D and stuck a belt loop on the back. What do you think? Shame it was my last bit of vegtan, I like making this sort of thing. In frith,

Re: Ooooh, a bit o' leather!:) It did take all afternoon to sew up lol. All by hand, holes made with an awl, saddlestitched with linen thread...
Then I had to wait for Susan to get up before I could do the noisy bits! (Nightshift) In frith,
Raven Our Eggs don't Skelter Re: Ooooh, a bit o' leather!Have you tried taking these items you make into craft shops and asking if they would be interested in selling them for you? Not only would it test the market for you, it may make you a few quid too. Obviously the shop owner would want a little something, but if you cost that into the figure you should be OK. Just a thought, as that is what I did with my Nappy Cakes and they are just starting to sell. I gave them a price of what I wanted, then they sell them in the shop and online.
Have put the above on another thread, but cannot remember which one now! Re: Ooooh, a bit o' leather! It's beautiful Raven, really excellent
I'm sure you could sell them or anything similar. I know that like any craft stuff it's had to get enough for it to pay for the amount of hours involved, but it's great to sell things you've made anyway
Re: Ooooh, a bit o' leather! That's fantastic I'm in awe
They said "Smile, things could be worse."
So I smiled.................and things got worse. Re: Ooooh, a bit o' leather!I could probably sell them, but the cost of the materials is quite high - decent leather costs a lot! No machine stitching either so takes a while :)
I have a couple of larger pouches too, different design, based on the Culloden sporran pattern. If anyone's interested, make me an offer :) In frith,
