Who collects the most unusual things?
Who collects the most unusual things?I used to collect tin boxes, still got loads of them, some of which I paid 2 figures for (when I had money!!), but not unusual I'd say.
Anyone got any unusual or weird collectables? Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: Who collects the most unusual things?I am known in the area for collecting Pallets.
Although, they don't often remain as pallets for long. Relax, I could have been a twin.
Re: Who collects the most unusual things?
Now I wonder why that is... Don't dream it, BE it....
Am looking forward to welcoming Sunny Clucker to Woodbridge Suffolk!!!!! Re: Who collects the most unusual things?I collect quite a few odd things. But one of the more sensible things I collect are original still life oil canvasses, preferably flowers. I find them at boot fairs or charity shops, and just can't leave them there usually as it seems such a shame ...all that work!
I bought one yesterday from a charity shop as it happens - I paid rather more than I would usually, but I really liked it and it's huge. I have put a coffee mug in front to give an idea of the size: This one I bought for £3 in a boot sale in the summer (bad photo, sorry): Helen xx

Re: Who collects the most unusual things?Cookery books, I have got loads of them and I do read the majority quite often looking for inspiration. I also collect kitchen gadgets and knives (although June has put her foot down about the gadgets in recent times).
If you look in my spare locker at the mo you would think that I am actively collecting reusable shopping bags but that is not the case and I do remember to take them along with me when I shop now, after all there are only so many shopping bags a person could ever dream of using at one time. Re: Who collects the most unusual things?I love the picture of the lupins Helen.
I've mentioned my madness already, I have somewhere in the region of 1,000 my little ponies. At the moment, I'm doing an inventory on them, and it's taking forever. The mostly usually live on shelves like this. Shlugh xx We now have a cream egg skelter, blessings on Pippi, Penny and Poppy who fill it for us.
Re: Who collects the most unusual things?Wow you have got a lot. When you see one for sale do you know if you have it already or do you just buy and see if it’s double later; in truth I don’t know how many permeations of MLP there is so you may have loads the same or hundreds of different ones.

Re: Who collects the most unusual things?Helen if Shlugh has got her name on the lupins than I bags the other picture ! They are so pretty no wonder you didn't resist.

Here's some of my aromatherapy oil burner collection. Now you see where the candle idea came from! I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money.
- Pablo Picasso Re: Who collects the most unusual things?I'm not much of a collector really. Given the money I'd happily 'collect' a large workshop and fill it full of all the tools I could find a use for (and a few I couldn't!)

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Who collects the most unusual things?I'm not much of a collector in the normal sense (ie buying stuff) but I can't resist beautiful natural things. I have a collection of pine cones including samples from places abroad I have visited, and I can't resist the smooth pebbles in beautiful colours you can find on the beaches in Suffolk. How ever many times we visit and I say I won't collect any more, I always seem to come home with a few in my anorak pocket!
Re: Who collects the most unusual things?Shlugh! Ha ha ha - that takes first prize I am sure!!
I have some face pots too, but your collection is much more bizzare than mine! Oh yes, I aslo collect chandeliers. Helen xx
