Post by Dinchy »

It's been about 15 years since I picked up a pair of knitting needles, but last weekend I got the urge, bought some wool....and here's the end result

Speaking as a bloke, it looks pretty good to me.
I see your model adopted the sulky pose for the photo shoot :-D

It took me 6 days. I started it last Sunday evening and finished it this morning.
I have definitely been bitten by the knitting bug, but you really have to be careful or things could end up with designer price tags. Dave found a pattern for a jumper that he wanted, but to knit it up in the correct yarn would have worked out at about £110 yike*
I am knitting a frilly scarf now in Can Can yarn. Nice and quick )t' (For me, not for Dave {rofwl} )

Really, really nice. I've got one of a similar style and colour but yours looks so much better on the model than mine does. Also I cheated. Haven't knitted in years, so shop bought.

Well done

That's fab, well done, I especially love the edging is it crochet?

L1dl had some yarn similar to can-can not such bright colours but cheaper as I don't think they knew what it was - 4 50g balls for £2.00 )t'

No, it's all knitted. I can't crochet to save my life. You knit the edging as 1 long piece and sew it on after.

Might have to have a nip in to L1dl and see if they have any. I paid £9.99 for my can-can }hairout{

I looked last weekend again but the local L1dl had sold out.

I think can-can you only need one ball to do a scarf whereas I needed 2, also the colours weren't so bright but still pretty, here is the part finished scarf -
