One doll finished

Post by albertajune »

I recently admitted to having numerous unfinished projects. Seeing the list written down made me realise that I must make the effort.
Below is a pic of a doll that I made in 1991. I have now given her a wig and basically dressed her. She was made from pouring slip into a mould, firing, painting and then assembling. I found painting the faces the most difficult but am quite happy with the result.
I did enjoy making dolls, but when they became popular in magzine adverts etc. I lost the enthusiasm. Anyway must now look at the next one on the list.

Isn't she lovely.
I have dolls also. But mine are reborns and someone else does them. I have to buy them. So you are so clever to do them yourself.

If you can't be a good example........
you will just have to be a horrible warning

Reborns are something that I would like to have a go at, but daren't start anything else. Besides which, I'm running out of space.

She is so pretty.

I love her big blue eyes and how the colour of her dress compliments them.

I have a porcelain doll, made from a kit that mum gave me on my 7th birthday, so she's 30 years old now.

Congratulations on finishing yours, does she have a name yet?
