sorry I am nowhere near as clever as you sound at craftwork . I am afraid if I want to cut some card with a patterned edge I pinch mums pinking shears - no good at sewing either

Annie im sure you are better than you give yourself credit for. I really enjoy my crafting and i love gadgets hence the anchoring after the new type of cutter but just dont want (and cant afford) to waste money. I do various crafts crochet, crossstitch, parchment and cardmaking and il have a go at most things if the fancy takes me....im afraid i am the ' do it all master of none' type of person.I Just cant sit and watch tv i have to be fiddling with something. I cant sew either even though i have an old machine it rarley sees light of day unless i am desperate to hem some curtains and even then if i can get away with the iron on hemming stuff i will

I have one of those little round hand held ones wih the blades in and you buy shape templates for them......fiskars. TBH I have just never got the hang of it. Mind you, I bought it, tried it a couple of times and then popped it somewhere safe when my baby grandson came round and lost it for over 5 years. I found it the other day actually, so I may try again. All I need now are the instructions.

I wonder where I put the templates.

Bought one of those cutters about 6 years ago, it's really useful although I tend to use it as a straight cutter and very rarely change the blades for the fancy cut. Find its too much "faffing" to be changing the blades everytime.

I can ask her about it if you want. (She seems happy with it)

I have no experience with it but I believe the can be used stand alone or with a computer.
I believe they have built in pappterns and you can add to them. My mum makes her own templates.

I do know she loves it and I was suprised at the value. I thought they'd be more expensive than a printer but they aren't.
