Winter knitted wrap
Winter knitted wrapJust thought I'd share a couple of photo's of a knitted wrap which I've just completed - it's been the bane of my life for the last year. It looks lovely now it's finished but what a marathon - the longest rows were over 600 stitches and it's a fine shetland wool - it's taken forever.
It's all done in garter stitch and I thought I would never finish it. It was a present and quite expensive so I was determined to make it to the end - love how it looks but I'd never knit another one!! It's a very clever pattern though, there's only one inch that needs stitching together at the end - I found the pattern quite complicated to understand but it's really very simple once you get your head around it. It's just very long rows with decreases at the corners and then it meets up in the middle and you do a three needle cast off from there for the two side pieces. Julie

Re: Winter knitted wrapIt`s lovely Julie, gosh you must have some patience. The colour are beautiful, do you enjoy knitting?
Re: Winter knitted wrapThat is very colourful and looks very cozy too. You have far more patience than me.

Re: Winter knitted wrapIt's been thrown back in my work bag several times - it's actually took me a year to complete on and off! I'm crocheting a blanket now which is much quicker. I prefer doing smaller projects really don't like it when things become a chore rather than a pleasure.

I wouldn't have the patience. I'm doing some knitting (for charity) at the moment and focusing on quick knits that just take a couple of days each.

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Winter knitted wrapThat's fantastic! So pretty~
Re: Winter knitted wrapWell done for getting it finished. Must say it looks as though it will be very cosy to wear.
Are you really sure that you don't want to make any more? You could take orders you know and get a little business going. Providing you have nothing else to do of course. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Winter knitted wrapI love the colours and design. Well done you!
