I got 200gs of baby double knit for £2.99 each, from Aldi is that a reasonable price, makes the blanket very reasonable in outlay, and I don't charge myself by the hour )grin2(

Julie - it was thanks to your link - just did it for me! )c(

I have decided I am reasonably ok once I get going but not great at the middles. I instantly lose the hole, so this time I threaded a bit of different colour wool through so I could find it as it got filled up.Seemed to work quite well - still not sure how I got a flap though!

It looks bigger than it is actually - it's only about 1 sq ft at the moment. I will get more wool on tues.

Finished a big, thick scarf this week - didn't think I'd get chance to use it this year, but guess I'll be wearing it for work tomorrow!

Really lovely! )c( Well done you! I am going to try squares next - I was just worried they may all turn out different sizes! Was it hard to join together and did you block it?

I bought some more wool yesterday in Wilcos, then went to the wool shop and bought some in much better colours! I am finishing my blankety thing in pinks, blue and white, but then will be more choosy colourwise I think. I got a fab heather, olive green, a dull red and a turquoise ball. I may get a couple more next week.

As my square has got bigger, it is now taking me a while to get round! It took me about 3 hours to do 4 rounds yesterday! :shock: I am also finding myself further away from my stitching - my arms were fully stretched last night! I am going to need a telescope to see what I am doing soon too. {rofwl}

I had look through some crochet books while I was out yesterday - really inspiring. That may be my next treat! )sh

That's beautiful, Julie, and it also matches my kitchen! I could sit here with that around me in the mornings and drink my coffee! :-D
