Re: Been busy with the crochet hook

Post by p.penn »

I bought the most wonderful crochet book of granny squares, and having got slightly fed up with my first effort (it's almost lap size and takes ages to go round once) I thought I would give myself a boost, use my lovely new wool and make some squares.

It's a bit of a shame as I think there may be a misprint in the book, as far from making a granny square, I seem to have produced a hamster hat with ear flaps.

No idea what happened!! yike*

I know WHERE it went wrong, but just don't get what I did wrong. }hairout{

I had to double crochet (purple) into each treble (blue). I popped a d/crochet in every gap basically. :?

If the tension was too tight, it would have curled from the middle, but it was flat until the purple row. }hairout{

If it has curled up on the last row, you have not enough stitches, I would say.
Missed a gap or a corner maybe ?
