Crochet Hooks

Post by Ana Quay »

I teach knitting and crochet and once at a crochet class I forgot to take my hook }hairout{ Luckily I always have my pen knife with me and so I decided to have a go at whittling one. To my amazement, not only did it work but it was the most comfortable one I've ever used. Since then I've made lots for friends and fellow crocheters and I've also started making them on a micro lathe. Here are a few of my favourites. I hope you like them as much as I do :-D

They look delightful! I keep telling myself to make myself some Fimo handles for my hooks but I just never get round to it.
I swear I'll have a permanent imprint of my palm over my face from reading forums.

You should make handles for your hooks Knikitta, I've turned some for my favourite metal hooks and they're far nicer to use now.

Crochet is a great hobby Manda, really easy once you get the hang of it and small enough to fit in a bag so you've always something to do if you are waiting around for anything. Try the beginners videos on youtube, that way you can stop and start them so you can follow each step :-D

They look lovely Ana, my mrs has just started out with the crotchet hook. I also have a small lathe here so may have a go at turning some for her. As stated earlier we do have some very talented people on the forum. )app(

Ana , they are really lovely. The woodgrain is beautiful. You could make sets and sell them. They are so much nicer than metal and I bet they feel so nice too!

They are lovely. Dad used to make lots of wooden craft, I still have the darning mushroom and housekeeper that he made me.

Well I had a go at turning one Ana,this was made from an old bit of hardwood I had kicking around the shed. My mrs is well chuffed with it, and says it works very well. I think i have made a rod for my own back as she now wants some more making :-D . I hope you approve, thanks again for the inspiration. )t'

Wowee!!!

I am so impressed. Ana do you sell them?

I've only recently taken to crocheting and find it very rewarding. A little something to turn to when I'm bored, cranky or there's no one around to chat to.

You are a talented bunch indeed )t'
