What is difference between Etsy and Folksy?

Post by bluebell »

I know they are two completely different sites, but wondered which one people favour to either buy or sell on.

I hope this is OK to discuss here.

I have a Folksy store.
Folksy is more UK-based in my experience, and is solely hand-made, whereas Etsy is handmade & vintage. I buy on both.

I have used folksy a lot in the past as it is uk based, but a close friend of mine buys a lot from Etsy, mostly vintage stuff. His house is AMAZING! :-D

I would say Etsy is more 'Worldly' compared to Folksy.

I had a Folksy store for two years and didn't sell a single item. I have an Etsy store and have sold 7 items in less than 6 months.
I swear I'll have a permanent imprint of my palm over my face from reading forums.
