I was not allowed near them MrsB, not even to run them {rofwl}

Over the years we've had train layouts in 3 separate bedrooms, always going up a bedroom size as the layout grew. They were quite big trains too, I think most were "O" gauge and I would have to crawl through the bedroom door to get inside as the layouts filled the whole room apart from a space in the middle. I couldn't even dust the windowsills as I couldn't reach them.

In the end OH sold them as none of our rooms were big enough for the kind of layout he really wanted.

I have just seen the impressive collectionl of trains etc. They must need a lot of room to lay them all out.
One of my neighbours who used to be a signalman before retiring, is also a train fanatic. He has stations placed all around his garden. I always know when he is running the trains, by the group of children who are peering over his fence.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.
