Don't know if I have asked this before

Post by wendy »

Anyone do Swedish Weaving ?
I saw a lady on the ship doing it and it was really lovely.
Got a book about it today, from the States as none here.
But I think I will try it when I have finished all my cross stitch. That maybe about 2020 :?

I have neven even heard of it Wendy, so am intrigued to know how it is different from ordinary weaving.
You must make a small sample and show us. )t'

I am not going to do it until I have finished my cross stitch. Although I desparately want to )grin2(

Here is a photo from the internet.

You sew on top of the material, rather than right the way through. So it isn't weaving as such.
I thought Ali might know it.

I have some Norwegian textiles that belonged to my grandmother which use a similar technique I think. I'll try to find them and take some photographs.

Thanks for the pic Wendy. You are so good with the needle, so are bound to make something lovely. I like the denseness of the pattern and haven't seen anyone else do it.
