Great last day of the Premiership !

Post by Richard »

I thought it could be boring !

Five all at West Brom, Fergie leaving
Both Managers leaving Chelsea v Everton
Arsenal just getting into Europe

Nice of Southampton fans to join in the ovation for Michael Owen when he came on as Sub for the last 15 minutes I thought (I saw them play Newcastle a few years back and Shearer (started at Southampton) was given one heck of a welcome - good respect fans down there).

Farewell Wigan. Great Club and likeable Manager but a Season is over 38 games I guess.
Reading, oh dear and Redknapp at QPR !! He's seen three of his Clubs down now I think.

Looking forward to seeing Hull back there next season Bob )t'

Next weekend, Palace or Watford - think I'd go for Palace?

Although I haven't been following footy as avidly as I used to when I had s ky, Arsenal is still 'my team' and I was thrilled to see they got their place in europe. )c(

Have you seen al the Brighton stuff this week? yike* Being local, I feel some loyalty towards them and would be very pleased if they were promoted, but honestly....who on earth thought that behaving like an irresponsible 3 year old would be a good idea? {mr.angry} It has done their team no favours at all. }hairout{

Completely agree Helen. That and the Pig's head incident at Stoke !

I admire Wenger. Every season at some stage they have a little bad spell and the Press start executing him etc. But he always bounces back. Fair enough he's not the man with the most smiles in the Premiership, but he does the Biz, especially with younger Players coming in, take the way he handled Woolcott, fine example.

Sorry Eck - and Carragher's last game at Anfield )t' )t'

Did I tell you that when they played at Southampton this season a Saints fan shouted "How old are you"; he replied "Old enough to earn 60 Grand a week".

Classic !

So, after that short intermission....

Although not a great fan, thought Delia and her Norwich did well, no expensive superstars yet survived. Compare their Team to QPR's !

Hi Richard
Yes sorry to see Jamie go although I think it was time for him to do so. He didn't have the pace that he used to and I think that annoyed Jamie Carragher more than anybody. However what a great servant he has been to the club and I always find it refreshing to see someone spend their entire career at the same club. Jamie Carragher is and will always be a Liverpool Legend.
Nice to see Hull back in the Premiership again too )t'

Gang up on Maggie is it ?
Didn't realise we were only allowed to comment with postive words on topics nowadays.
Football will be a bone of contention in plenty of households with many a wife/mother/partner breathing a sigh of relief for a few weeks.
I don't enjoy football, Eck and the male side of the family do , thats ok something they all have in common and can share, apart from when they support different teams of course!
Richard I am sure was right a good and sometimes sad end to the season but I will not be waiting for 17th August on tenterhooks either.
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .
