Fair Isle Part 2

I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to try fair isle knitting - I've always been scared of it because it looks so complicated but it really isn't - I am now a fair isle addict - I cant stop knitting. Give it a go - honest it's not that hard :-D

The three things I've made below are all patterns by Kate Davies and they are absolutely beautiful. If you google Kate Davies she has a lovely blog/store - she is an inspiring young woman - she had a stroke a few years ago and her blog is lovely - lots of lovely knitting, landscapes and the courage with which she's fighting to get better after her stroke.

I made these long fingerless gloves with a tortoise and hare motif ..

Then I made this sheep heid hat which I'd seen on Ravelry and was determined to make .. isn't it cute?

And I made this flowers hat - aren't the colours gorgeous.

None of them are perfect - but then if they were perfect they wouldn't have been made by me would they? :-D

Methinks you have done a bit of knitting before attempting these.
Look good enough to grace the shelves of Harrods to me )t'

I've been stalking you on Ravelry and marvelling - they are beautiful Julie. I have an itch to try some Fair Isle, but I'm on a mission to work through my must-knit list first.

Honestly if you can knit in the round and read a chart it's not that bad ... I'm looking for a knitting shop somewhere close by where there's a course in steeking (cutting the knitting to make garments that you've knitted in the round) I haven't got the bottle to do that without someone showing me first! :-D
