Any knitters out there? Need some advice please

MY son and his girlfriend are about to set up home, and have fallen in love with knitted cushion covers. However, the ones they like from Next are £30 a pop, and they are only stocking stitch! So, I have offered to knit them some, but it's years since I knitted anything. So, can someone please tell me, what's the chunkiest yarn you know of? Acrylic is fine. The thickest I know is super chunky.

Aran is a thick wool.

I think super chunky is thicker than aran. It knits up really quickly

Yeah, absolutely super chunky.
Aran is five ply, chunky six ply and super chunky eight to twelve ply.
Choose one that has a needle size written on the ball band, then go one size smaller for cushion covers (to help stop them losing shape within a few days) and make them smaller than required so they have to stretch slightly to cover the cushion pads. Nice buttons will make them look superb, and expensive )w(

I would suggest buying very cheap cushions that are already in covers of matching colours, so if the wool allows the under colour to show through, it looks good.
