I've finished too!

Post by p.penn »

Like Wendy, I have just finished a long term project today - only mine is my very first crochet blanket. Consisting of 168 squares, it has taken me around 8 months or so (I think) and I have to say I am completely delighted with the result.

I have really enjoyed making it and feel very slightly lost tonight! I have other, much smaller projects on the go too, so will have to get back into them!

It is beautiful, Helen. I wonder how many ounces or grammes of wool you used?

Yes I used stylecraft. My idea of 'great colours' has completely changed since I started crocheting. My first succesful granny squares were colours I liked and considered tasteful, but to be honest, they were rather dull and although they are joined up, I have not yet made them into anything particular.

When I made my heart bunting, that was the first time I had used such bright colours. It was during quite a difficult time for me, and I found using these wonderful colours very theraputic. The bunting makes me happy every day when I look at it!

I can't begin to tell you how I feel about this blanket. I am sure all my friends are fed up of me posting pics and gushing over it, but it has been such an enjoyable journey, and the end result has made me beyond ecstatic! {rofwl} A lot of that is due to the colours, I am certain.

Hmmm - I am not sure. I have just done 3 rounds of the border, and that alone has used approx 80 grammes of wool, so I would think about 10 x 100g balls in total.
