FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out There
FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out ThereAli found this free book on Kindle, which I believe you can download onto a PC as well if you don't have a Kindle.
It is a comprehensive guide for beginners upwards on how to use, understand and maintain sewing machines. Might interest some. Just search on your Kindle or on Amaz0n for "The Sewing Machine Master Guide" and you will find it Dom Ali Woks My World
Re: FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out There Thanks Dom & Ali!

Re: FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out ThereI've just had a quick flick through it and have to say that it is very comprehensive. Loads of advice on which type of machine to choose to suit your sewing with step by step advice on getting the best results.
Clear advice on troubleshooting and how to put problems with machines right as well as clear instructions for maintainance of your machine. It covers needles, threads, materials, how the machines work and loads more. I'm not sure if it will be free forever or whether it is just for a limited period only. Dom Ali Woks My World
Re: FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out ThereThanks Dom and Ali. Sounds very useful info to have.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out ThereThanks for that. Is there a section on old treadle machines, because I would like to get mine going again.

Re: FREE and Might Interest The Crafties Out There
On the quick scan I've had it does give you pointers on the old cast iron Singer style machines, how to degunk and oil them etc. I didn't notice if it went into the treadle mechanism itself but that bit is easy to see where you might need a bit of oil. Only use sewing machine/gun oil to oil a machine as 3 in 1 or wd40 will slowly solidify and gunk the workings up. If you still have the instruction book for your machine it will give you the oiling points but if you've lost it I could probably point you in the right direction for an online version to down load. What sort of machine do you have? Dom Ali Woks My World
