Finished!!!

Post by p.penn »

Today I have finished the blankets for my grandchildren! )c( I started in feb, and have worked really hard on them. I have found doing two at a time fairly tricky as just when I had done a bit, I needed to do it all over again!

They will be snuggle blankets for now, and hopefully they are smart enough to be used as sofa blankets when they have homes of their own.

Have been busy with the camera, so here are a couple of pics of all of the proper blankets I have made so far.

Must say I am incredibly pleased with my latest efforts, and in fact can hardly believe I made them! Just goes to show there is truth in the old saying 'If at first you don't succeed...' !

They look good )t'
I've still got the two crochetted blankets my Granny made me when I was little as well as the mini one she made for my teddy when I was ill so he could be snuggly too.

I'd be very proud of those - but instead I'm jealous {rofwl}

Can knit like a pro, but I've never got my head round crochet. For some reason it just doesn't compute with me at all. So yeah, I'm jealous :-D

It's a real labour of love Helen, and something that will be treasured for years to come.

Mrs Fab is great at knitting and crochet. She crochet a crown and plat from Frozen (all the rage with little girls at the moment apparently) and dropped it off this morning.

She is currently crocheting covers for jugging balls, can you believe. Our juggling balls have a sort of plastic type outer cover that tends to get a bit worn and torn. So Mrs Fab has decided to crochet new covers. I'll have to do some before and after photos :-D

Thank you all for your lovely comments {hug}

I have got to hide the blankets as I said they would be ready after they have gone back to school, and as there is already lots going on in the holidays, I thought it may brighten up an otherwise uneventful day for them!

I have been making some more large heart bunting as a gift for a friend's 21st/wedding celebration next month, but I think I have used a far too sensible colour for the outside :? As I have never seen their flat, and I suspect it is quite modern, I didn't want to go my usual mad for colours, so did lovely hues of blues and purples for the centre, but the heart shape itself is mocha. Oh well, its done now. I just have the stringing to do, then I will post a pic and you can see what you think
