Still using up odds and ends of fabric. I can now put in a box for gr-granddaughters when old enough to play.
This doll is just a try out and did turn out OK. However when I make another one I will buy good sturdy fabric.

Not really Kate. I work from a pattern but can embroider faces. Thanks all the same for the compliment.

Did you make the face from scratch? It looks 3D.
My mother used to make a lot of dolls, for family and to sell, but used to buy stiff fabric moulded faces for the bigger ones. She gave some 'baby bunting' rabbit ears. We were members of GLB (like Guides), and she made lots of smaller dolls dressed in the Cadet (like Brownies) uniform. Very fiddly (maybe they were plastic dolls that she dressed). For prizes I think. We still have a fairy doll she made, on top of our tree.

Mo, the doll is made of stockinette, so stretchy. The face is given shape by moulding the filling while stitching, eg she has a nose and cheeks. You will understand more of what I mean if you look at her knees.
It should have had more definition but my stockinette was bit flimsy and she is just a tryout to see if it is worth me sending for proper doll making fabric.
I probably will but have a different doll that I want to try first. )t'

Yes I thought it must be something like that, ad I did notice the knees.
How clever. I've given up all (rudimentary) attempts to be crafty.
