Down the Lane

Ta da!!!!! Now I just need to make sure it actually gets to my friend for her birthday and doesn't grow roots on my sofa!



It's much bigger than it looks - 20" square. I originally bought the cover brand new in its packet from a charity shop for me, but the label inside said the name of it was 'gurly' so I knew it had to be for my friend

My new blanket is coming on well too. I should finish it in about a month

My blanket is now coming on nicely, although after 210 squares, it is still far too small! I have a border to add too.



So as a little distraction, I crocheted this pattern from Attic 24 today. It is only 3 inches tall and took me 3 hours - an hour per inch!

Helen what patience you have!! The cover is looking so good and very happy colours. Love the little Easter chick you clever girl.

Thanks June, although wouldn't say patience is one of my strong points!

When I have started things, I just want them finished, which is probably why I spend so long crocheting!

I have finished my new blanket but can't decide on the border colour, so may well leave it for now. I have just added a turquoise border to my very first blanket. Originally it was just purple, then I made another blanket which was mainly purple and they were too samey. Its amazing how much difference even one row made and I am very pleased.



I have also finished my Easter bunting - just need to join it. So with the cushion, that's three of my original on the go projects completed now

Having completely lost my crochet mojo for over 3 months, I've been trying to inspire myself by buying a new book and borrowing another from the library.

I have motivated myself enough to do a border for my blanket, and now it's finished Actually, I'm not thrilled with the border as it's gone ruffled and I should really unpick it. But not now, just can't after so many hours work.

It looks ok from a distance, so here it is in all it's wigglyness!

It maybe possible to "pull it" together by doing a crab stitch (ie a UK double crochet the opposite way round ) rather than undoing it.

Not interfering at all Patti and thank you for the suggestion. I have already started unearthing the end thread (why oh why did I make such a good job of weaving it in?!) and it is SO ruffled, that I had already decided to redo the last 2 rounds, decreasing on both.

Would the crab stitch make it lie completely flat?

Well,it could do,ok,what answer is that!!!
It would depend how many stitches you missed in between.
I will try to post a picture of a 4ply shawl I have just completed (it is an easy pattern and I have made three in the last year) where I always crab stitch the last round in every other stitch.I love this stitch as it is firm and seems to hold everything together.
Sorry can't seem to understand how to post a picture!
Crocheting is simpler to me than computing!!!
