Well , if you look on the British cycling web site , Super vets Nat riders ranking , I am on it .
Slipping down -10th .
Should be riding at Dalby Forest Sunday am . Thinking I will be working so probably miss it.
MSG in Suffolk following week.
Tonight due to ride at Rochford . Tomorrow at Redbridge .
Love it and do not bounce as well as I used too . Though I seem to be getting more practise.
Ride a Secialised Camber Comp. 2011 . 26 inche wwheel large frame . Up grade front Suspension to Gold (was a silver ) .
Have in my stable BMX , Downhill (Big Hit ) Tourer , Race bike and a actual race bike (one I use for rioad races .
Dirt bikes P3 , Wood coloured one as well .
Maany wrecks in the making .
Now I want to get a 650 B Carbon frame but cannot get SHMBO to let me have the 6,000pounds to by it . To be honest it may even have a go faster stripe , but not likely to make me go faster at all . Just got a Garmin sat for the handle bars as the cheap ones fall off and break.
Love it and look forward to meeting the other old guys that are old enough to know better .
Youngsters from the next lower level are coming up and giving us all a run for our money .

Hi all , for those interested , so far this year 4th in Country (25 on list) came 36 out of 44 (50 paid to race ) 3rd in my cat. Last weekend at Stratford E15.(Velo Drome MTB XC course )
This good start to the season will not last unfortunately , 14 starters (? how many turn up ) at Dalby Forest , Nat race. Maybe a good chance to beat a couple racing against Mechanical failures. New bike 29er making a lot of difference , my legs need up dating with a new pair . have to settle for a new pair of trainers.
Feel like I am blowing my own trumpet , but pleased with my self .

Only just seen this, Bob. Sounds like, although I know 'nowt' about racing with or without an engine, as though you are doing well.
I was watching a tv game show and a contestant was saying that he wanted to buy a new swish bike, sorry forgot what it was, but he said it would cost about 8k!! Bradley Walsh's face was a picture. LOL

I love SPECIALISED bikes (Maker) . I race on Camber Comps ( cheap ) New they was in 2011 1200 pounds . I got one in a box for 700 pounds (EBAY) Just stopped using this year .
New bike was larger wheels and sold for 1700pounds new 2015 . Paid 350 plus 35 pound postage . Ex hire bike from Alps ...
New bike of dreams would cost 8,000pounds go anyway bike with everything on it (brain -dropper seat post )
It is like all things you do not have to have an expensive bike just the time to do it.
Bike makes a lot of difference as larger wheels make the bike quicker - Does make tech. bits of track troublesome as bigger turning circle -like a car .
Though I more than likely could do the A lines on tricky parts I take the B or even C lines as traveling 245 miles each way - end up in hospital and a van stuck miles away is not a good idea.
Also I do it on the cheap - sleep in van if possible -cold uncomfortable and stiff. then race at 10.45 am and them 2 hours later back home and a night shift at best of times .
Bed and breakfast over night is like a dream bike , not going to happen.
Hope I did not bore you to much .
last word - lock your bikes up as they are valuable and easily sold on.

Hi , Shame I cannot ride them .
Race on Sunday . Understand now why the UCI have a world championship rcae there. My a hill must have been a mile long and straight up . Crash at the start put me a head of half a dozen . 5minutes in and a down slope with boulders on it brought me down ( OTB ) over the bars .
Marshal said it was spectacular .... Well any gains was lost. Ended up 15 paid 14 turned up and I came 13th.
2 laps out of the three I managed . Normally 50 % this time 66 % so an improvement .
See where I aim later in the week on the league .Wont be 4th for sure .

Ditto to what Mo has asked are you OK?
My son has had an interest in motor bikes since really young, now 52 this year and I tried absolutely everything to get it out of him, just like daughter with horses........all to no avail though with both of them.
Both son and daughter have been badly hurt, son more so than daughter,
Take care. X
