Mrs Fab has been busy while we have been travelling

Despite our rather nomadic life over the past nearly two years, Wendy has kept herself busy with various projects. She loves crochet and we seem to have at least one suitcase full of skeins of wool. The stuff she makes she gives away to people we make friends with on our travels to remember us by.

Here is her latest creation that she finished just a week ago while we were still in Borneo. It took her a few months to complete. The wool cost £30.00 but it is the hours of work that went into it that makes it unique and priceless.

We sent this one via courier to a friend in India from Borneo. It hasn't arrived yet and in this part of the world there is always the risk that things 'go missing'.

)like( Such beautiful and colourful work. Wendy is a very talented lady like another of the lane members Helen. Artritic hands won't let me crochet any more but I enjoy seeing what other people make.

Heard yesterday it arrived safe and sound to the recipient in Bangalore, India.

Wendy had written a little card to Kam (the lady it was sent to) but she had to get her husband to read it as she was crying to much.

The next project is a new is a blanket that she wants the family to keep as an heirloom. It was designed by people in Finland - see

How lovely that it was received with such a response. Your lady has such a talent and I hope we see a pic of her next project when it is done.

I liked that. Is she going to use the yarns they suggest, and if so which colours? The different colours made quite a different blanket, brought out different aspects of the squares. I think I preferred the monochrome ones.

Have just 'found' this section of the forum - what a talented bunch of people the laners are.

Very impressed by Wendy's work, and how she seems to have adapted the traditional squares to include patterns and colours from your travels.

I love the Finnish heirloom idea. That's really beautiful and it would be lovely to leave something permanent like that. I'd love to do it too, but it doesn't look like an ideal starter project for a beginner.

I tried looking back at the Finnish project link, but I get a 404.
Can Mrs Fab give any clues about where to find the details now, please?
