I was browsing through our village site on Facebook this morning, and saw several people had posted about seeing the Northern Lights which had been seen in the early evening here and in the surrounding areas. The photos were beautiful.
So disappointed, they are on my bucket list. They were visible several weeks`ago, but long past my bedtime. Hopefully there will be other sightings at a reasonable time in the near future.
We had some beautiful photo's put up here in NZ too...I was driving to work at about the time they'd seen them....saw nothing ...story of my life
I'd love to see them.

the key is photography, not by eye - if you know when to expect, use a camera with long exposure as it will capture the colours that your eyes are not going to see. Even a photo taken using a mobile phone camera will usually show some colours.
By the way, I also missed the Northern Lights (more to do with street lights when facing north from my house)
I did not know this .... I'm going to try that the next time they are reported as being visible. Cheer LL
