I look at those projects and the likes of some on Grand Designs and wish I'd have worked a little harder at School.

Probably wouldn't have done me any good anyways !

But I love seeing peoples dreams come true. Some self builds leave a lump in my throat. But I'm a romantic old git and reasonably happy with my lot!

We went on the self-build project journey six years ago and if anything epitomised ' agony and ecstasy' it was the entire experience! It consumes your life from morning 'til night and any nightmares in between!

But was it worth it? Sure was; we have a lovely home by the sea and most of all the sense of satisfication of knowing it was all down to us.

Hello, Lorna,

Can you guess from the pix on my website? If not, we're way down on the Lizard Peninsula.

Well that was an extremely long read. But I am glad I did it.
With such amazing scenery you can see why they put themselves through it and not once did he seem to lose his quirky sense of humour.
A truly beautiful house in a truly beatuful place.
