angora production

Post by kitla »

I don't know if this has already been discussed here, I only heard about it today.
PETA secretly filmed at several angora producers in China & revealed the horrendous
cruel and painful way the fur is taken from the rabbits,(I wont go into graphic detail
here) UK producers would clip & comb the hair out which is why it was expensive,
cheap Chinese imports have taken over, but at a terrible cost to the poor animals. {cry}
Several large stores here have now stopped selling angora products until their suppliers
have been inspected and shown to be ethical.
"He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals."

I also read this and did find it so awful. China has a bad image when it comes to animal welfare in general and to be honest, I can't see it coming to an end. So sad.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.
