Sugar powered batteries... a green power source perhaps

Post by saint-spoon »

I found this article earlier on FB. Some scieitists have developed a power cell that runs on sugar and is more powerful for its size than the current lithium ion cells... and the only waste products are water and electricity... Could be with us within 3 years. fantastic )t' . Worth reading the article BTW

Fascinating! I hope they develop them as quickly possible, and that they are as effective as the conventional alternatives.

Sugar is another of these so called 'green' power sources. Don't believe a word of it! Just think of the millions of acres of sugar cane, beet or whatever, that would have to be grown instead of food crops. Any energy obtained from plants(biofuel) is WORSE than from oil. Quite apart from the vast waste of space on the planet, there is just as much pollution from it as from oil, and more than from coal. The ONLY true green energies are those from wind and water, and in hot countries, solar.
