National Newspaper coverage

Has anyone seen the 'front page' of The Independent today?

It gives an example of the space allowed for a battery hen and the number of days before it is slaughtered and then sold to a supermarket for Â£2,50.

The paper is viewable on the internet, as it's so late in the day to buy a copy.

There is also reference to a link covering video footage in a broiler farm.

Top marks to The Independent, lets hope their paper was sitting on breakfast tables this morning!

A friend of mine who moved from Notts to Exmoor just recently, works for a nice lady who writes for the Mail. Anyway my friend came and saw my 8 ladies before she went to Exmoor and persuaded her boss to get some ex batts. They picked them up on Sat just gone, 6 of them and her boss is going to write/put something in the Mail, over the next few days/weeks to make people more aware of how these poor ladies have to live. Really pleased about that as the more people who are made aware of their lives the better.
Also was in Morrisons doing the weekly shop on Sat and I noticed the lady waiting in front of me had free range eggs. Couldnt resist asking her if she had bought them intentionally or by accident. She had bought them intentionally and hated the thought of battery hens. Whats more she was telling everyone she came across which was good to hear.
She did say she would buy some eggs off me, but unfortunately she lives to far away.
It does seem that the word is getting round about these poor ladies lives dont you think?

Just had a reply from a Stratford paper, one of who I emailed recently to ask about them running an article and they're interested.

\if anyone is about to get any ex-batts, now's the time to tell local press. They'd be more interested if there's a sad story turning into a good one.

I visited evry national newspaper website today and searched ' battery hens', 'hugh fearnley-whittingstall' and 'jamie oliver'.

EVERY SINGLE ONE has artciles in the last two or three days.

Combination of celebs, CIWF, RSPCA and VIVA getting results !!
