Looks like the retailers do notice public opinion. (So we can't just say 'it's the supermarket's fault for selling broilers'). More organic food and free range meat is on sale now than ever before.

So it's a 2-pronged attack, tell the retailers that people care about animal welfare, and educate the public so that they do care.

BTW I didn't see anything about pigs in that link.
