This page on the PETA site is well worth a read.....

Some of the videos on the PETA site are worth a look at as well, but some quite disturbing.

I think we are all aware of what good memories our chickens have.
My chickens refuse to be picked up by anyone other than my youngest son. He is their treat provider and they all chase him for something to eat in the garden.
they know the sound of the shower being turned on in the morning (their run is down the side of the house where our ensuite is) and start clucking like mad when they hear it.
They really are quite intelligent animals.

Ive just watched those videos, I know we've probably all seen them before, but it still makes me upset and angry. I noticed that they say in America 98% of their eggs are battery, dont they have organic/ free range over there?

How much of our egg consumption is battery, does anyone know?

Most Americans do not know [and maybe care] how their food is produced. They certainly do not have an equivalant of the BHWT. I know a couple of girls that would like to get one going though.

Thanks for the link - they are only telling us what we already know!!
I could not look at the video - I feel at present I am in overload with their suffering.
I nearly hit someone in the supermarket yesterday who had caged hen eggs....

PETA is a very good organisation and certainly doesn't cut corners.

For me personally, I think it's a pity it's a veggie site as this may stop some people finding it.
