You won't get rid of me that easily! I am greedy for knowledge of all things rural. When we go abroad we will be keeping hens again. There will be mine and his. If he wants to eat meat that is up to him and he will have to look after his own meat chooks. Too soft me, I'll want to keep them all.
We are intending to have a couple of goats too, but that brings it's own problems (for me) but we will need milk and cheese for calcium. And bees for honey. Good job we have both had careers with animals.

You can't have just one goat can you? Aparently there is a shepherd in each village who collects goats and sheep each morning and delivers them back each night after a day foraging. All for a couple of quid a month.
They let the chooks go wherever they want too, so it is a case of fencing your veg patch to keep them out as you could end up with all the village chooks coming for a meal!
We love wildlife and there is plenty, different to here, so night time security for the chooks is even more important. It will keep OH busy making things martin and jackal proof! No rabbits to eat the cabbages though.
it sounds like bliss to me my idea of heaavvveennnn i would love this lifestyle i hope i dont have to wait too long
