Thought I would pass this onThought I would pass this onJust had this on my forum. How true it is I don't know. But it was from a reputable poster.
"Please be aware of anyone looking for bantam cockerels who doesn't want to pay for them, and especially if you, or someone you know, offers them 'Free to Good Home'. I have it on good authority that these little boys are very sought after for cockerel fighting. The cockerels are even being stolen so please be sure that all your flock is locked away securely at nights and never leave your chickens unattended during the day. Thanks for reading this message. If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Thought I would pass this onWell my two little boys went to homes4hens in the end , one was rehomed on the same day as Kathryn had only that morning had a phone call asking if she had or knew of any cream legbar boys - that was unbelievable and I don't think anyone asking for a specific breed of male would be wanting it for anything other than breeding in the future. The other one I think is probably going to stay with Kathryn so for that one too.
Why are people so sick wanting animals for fighting dogs or cockerels ? It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Re: Thought I would pass this onWhen the 3 pullets we gotturned out to be boys i phoned a nearby knowlagble breeder to see if he could help us find homes and he told us not to advertise them on the net. I said i was giving them free to good homes and he said that people would tie them to something and set the fighting birds on them to rip them to shreds. He said it is rife and advised if we couldnt find someone genuine it would prob be better to have them humanely pts. Luckily an old friend took them and they are doing well, although ironically she has had to seperate them because they were scrapping with each other and drawing blood. I said i felt bad that they had turned out to be little boogers but she said dont be daft iv had worseand iv plenty of room for them. I think my boys are very lucky lads Lindaxx

Also dogs 'free to good home' they are used as bait dogs, mouths taped and put in the pit.
Same with dogs stolen outside shops. NEVER leave your dog tied up while you go shopping. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
