live plucking of geese

I read an article yesterday about the live plucking of geese to supply feathers for the padded coats that are the latest trend. The geese can be plucked more that once during there lifetime and horrendous pain and stress is caused to them, where the skin is torn it is just sewn up without any anaesthetic. they also use feathers from geese that have been force fed for fois gras after they have been killed.
I have just watched a video about it and am horrified, how can such cruelty be inflicted on these birds.

Because some people have no conscience when it comes to turning a profit and others have no conscience when being seen wearing the latest fashion. Turns your stomach.

Disgusting isn't it.
They also do it to eider ducks for pillows etc.

Any brand names or information about which companies advocate this?

Classic case of near-absolute Speciesism; disregarding the rights of animals in favor of human interest.

I believe that the white domestic goose was originally bred in order to provide fletchings for arrows; indeed chickens were originally bred for religious sacrifice and cockerel-fighting.

Geese were certainly plucked to provide fletchings.

I dont thing there is any animal that comes close to the cruellty inflicted by some humans, barbaric comes to mind Lindaxx
