Post by thehenhouse »

www.thenewarc.org

The BHWT SCOTLAND are probabaly not going to have enough hens in their next rescue this month.

sO THE CO ORDINATOR SENT ME A LINK i THOUGHT i WOULD PASS ON IN CASE ANYBODY ELSE UP HERE IS LOOKING FOR HENS.

tHEY AE NOT EX BATTS, but hens which are 'legally' free-range. They can explain more about what that actually means.

I have emailed them to see what is available and awaiiting areply.

Cheers maggi

Hi again,

I had a phone call from Keith who co runs this sanctuary up in North East Scotland. he has access to about 600 ex "free range" :!: chickens to rehome '
People are welcome to go and have a look and he is happy to talk about rehoming with you.
the phone number is 07962253867

They are way up there near Ellon.

So just incase any of the other scottish ppl on the forum would like some more and to save them from being made in cat food.. lets go!

thanks maggi :-D

HI there everyone I just thought I would say that I took 6hens from the New Arc, they are great girls, very friendly and very talkative now that they have settled in and have turned into very pretty girls now that their feathers have all grown in. They were a bit a of a mess when they arrived at the the New Ark. Looking forward to getting to know everyone on this forum.

Welcome from me, essentialequine, great to have you amongst us. Although not a chicken keeper, I do take a keen interest, I'm sure you'll find lots of lovely people to chat to on here.

tell me about it, the girls get out from about 7am but are back to bed at 4.30pm, where as in the summer it was 10pm, lots more poo in the hoosie. Cant wait for Christmas and new year cause then its not long till the nights start to draw out again lol
