Down the Lane

My daughter has reared three chicks. They are now 4 months old. The cockerel is named Hope because he had a difficult start in life (we only agreed to take him because his fate was certain if we didn't...) He is now a handsome specimen!
But... he is beginning to find his voice and our neighbours are muttering.
Daughter is distraught at having to let him go but he must go to a new home. (She would like to visit him in his new home)
Can anybody help me with suggestions that don't involve plucking please?
We are in Surrey.
