Sad news from Little Hen

Post by wendy »

I am copying a FB post from Little Hen Rescue in Norfolk.
We were with Jo the fist time she went into the sheds, a number of years back.
She was so devastated that we had to leave hens behind. She decided to start a rescue and clear the sheds completely. The Little Hen rescue was named after the smallest little hen you could imagine taken from the sheds that day. She was taken home by Phil who was running Hen Rehomers back then. Jo has done such a marvellous job what a pity that some b*st*rd has caused this !
"
A very sad day for Little Hen Rescue, again we have been broken into and the lad that stayed here over night beaten and bound. This is I'm afraid the final straw for LHR. All of his belongings stolen, all our farm tools and any petty cash on site.

This shows how disgusting humans have become, that they would hurt some so badly to rob him and my farm.

I will be Rehoming the animals to good homes only.. These animals are as follows..

- 4 goats ( 2 female/2 neutered males)
- 2 sheep (neutered males) very friendly

- 1 pig ( not neutered )

- 3 turkeys (2 females 1 male)
- 5 Muscovy ducks - male
- 1 male mallard and 1 female runner duck x female - very friendly - together only

- 50 + hens and 12 cockerels

Please share to good people only, homes to be home checked.

I will also contact Hillside Animal Sanctuary & PACT for help

A very sad end.."

I am pretty sure I met Jo briefly at a rescue, they went in after us to clear the sheds, bless her and what a terrible thing, the response on fb has been amazing, I hope Jo is lifted by the support she has, must be absolutely heartbreaking {cry}

Totally agree this is all very sad.

Toby is the young man who was beaten up and had personal belongings stolen. I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

I have messaged Jo privately, have offered my support on social media. I can also confirm that Jo has the full support of FSFH and we are all sending our love and regards to her - hope she may change her mind, but that could all be too much to ask - as this isn't first time.

Ys, Perchy you have met Jo )t'

Jo's having a time of reflection and giving a great deal of soul searching this weekend - let's support her folks {hug}
