looking for ex battery hens

Good morning everyone, just new in the Forum - hope you are all having a lovely sunny day as we do here in Ashford, Kent.
I am looking to rescue some battery hens - I've been keeping chickens for the last 4 years and decided to try and give some unfortunate girls a new life; does anyone know where I could go looking in the Ashford area? Any advice appreciated, thanks

Hi Isabella

Try Fresh Start For Hens - there's a rescue coming up on 27th sept and they're bound to have a collection point in kent somewhere.

There may be other hen rescue orgs who operate in your area too, maybe even animal rescue places might be worth checking out?

I have been trying to contact Fresh Start for Hens who I believe have a delivery early in October. My virus scanner tells me that the site is unsafe. I would like to contact them if any body has a phone number.

Thanks

Hi Jackie

That sounds like a false positive on your virus scanner. Mine is showing no problems with the site:

Anyway, reservations for their next rehoming (oct) are closed now, but they do have a facebook site as well and it may be worth contacting them via there in case not everyone makes their donations or even collects their girls
