Down the Lane

My Dad (bless his heart) decided to surprise me with two Buff Orpington hens back in August - I had wanted to get two following the loss of my little Flo and Henrietta last year.

He bought them from an auction while I was away visiting my sister leaving him to cat and chicken sit.

Unfortunately Elsie and Ellen have turned out to be Eric and Ernie; they are absolutely gorgeous but sadly due to the neighbours I can't keep them.

I live in Kirton Lindsey near Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. I just want them to go somewhere where they'll live long and happy lives - not end up in someone's dinner plate, which is why I'm asking for help here among like minded chicken mad folk.

I'm going to miss them but here's hoping..

I was surprised that my neighours actually like the crowing - I just dont let
my chooks out too early am
There is a facebook group called "cockerel trader" for people trying to rehome
cockerels to genuine homes. I joined it to find a new cockerel this year, definitely
worth a try.
