3 Hens (Hybrids) Sheffield in need of a new home

Hello,
3 hens needing a new home. 1 warren, 1 bluebell and a black rock. The hens were bought from a specialist chicken farm in Dore, Sheffield so have all required vaccinations. They were bought as point of lay and we have had them a year so they are around 16 months old. All the girls are really good layers. We get 2 eggs a day and in the summer its often 3. They currently live in an eglu and free range in the garden when we are home. The hens really enjoy free ranging and can demand to be let out (squawking)! They would therefore be better in a garden in which they can free range more than just in the eglu run. We are based in Sheffield S35. I would like the girls to go to a good home. Due to the pending arrival of children we can sadly no longer keep them as our garden is quite small and wouldn't allow for the hens to free range anymore. They are free to a good home.

They are beautiful - but you will have your hands full with a new baby without needing to move an eglu run every day and listen to all the complaining squawks. Glad to see from the other thread that you are thinking of moving and keeping hens in future (maybe a large walk-in run then?). Children will enjoy watching them and helping collect eggs.
Hope they find a good home, do you have a date you would like them gone by?

No not really, we are adopting children and have just been approved so it could take another 6 months or so before they are placed with us... so ideally before then. I do want them to go somewhere they can be looked after properly and so am willing to wait.

Fingers crossed for the girls!

Hi, As not urgent as such , will keep a watch . Should no help come forth , I will assist . Bit of a distance to travel.
Hopefully you will get a good outcome and not need my assistance . But here if needed.

The girls went to their new home on Sunday. They have gone to a small holding in Scunthorpe. They are living with around 10 hens and some ducks. The girls can free range all day so I am confident they will love it once they have got used to the ducks whom seemed to like them and followed them round for most of the time we were there!!

I will miss them loads (I already have this morning!) but they will be happier in their new home.

Thank you for the offer Bob.
