3 hens looking for a loving home

Hello all. I have 3 hens in need of a loving home as I'm going abroad. I've asked those I know who keep chickens but sadly haven't been able to find anyone who is able to take them on. Hoping I might be able to find them a good home here!

They are all slightly older ladies - approx 4-5 years old. One is a bluebell - to be honest she's feeling her age and probably won't lay another good egg. The other two are araucanas - they should have a few more good years of laying in them - and they lay pretty blue eggs! They are friendly girls, each with their own unique little characters, and they must all be re-homed together.

I'm based in St Albans, Hertfordshire - but can drop them off within a reasonable distance.

You can see some photos of them all here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/6SpGpf6AG1WRVId33

Pretty hens Jess - I'm afraid I can't help as I'm in NZ - but hope we can do something to help :-D
When are you leaving the UK? Just thinking how long do you have to find them a home.

Thanks both! Yes they are lovely little things!

Thanks Bob (& Richard). I'll keep asking around (everyone I meet I ask!), but it's nice to have that piece of mind that I can be in touch later down the line & they will find a good home.

I am looking for some hens to add to our family but I live in Warwickshire so not sure if that would be too far?

Hey Marnold123 sorry for the late reply - haven't checked out the forum for a few days. I'm hoping to find out tomorrow whether the girls can go to a home nearby (the potential home needs the ok from the landlady first!). If they're unable to home them, I've had a quick look and Warwickshire probably wouldn't be too far for us. I'll be in touch to let you know. Thanks!!

Great news - think we've found a home for the hens with a local vet!! So they should be going to a good home at the end of the month. Thanks for all the support!! :-D
