Post by fabindia »

I can get BBC iplayer, ITV Hub, Channel 4 on Demand, etc. out here.

Anything you really enjoyed and think is worth viewing?

I've recorded a radio 3 repeat of a series The Glory of Polyphony, and am listening to it when washing up.
Accidentally watched Porridge just before Christmas.
And the Royal Institution Christmas lectures - missed the 1st (though I can see it on computer), thought the second was very good. Evolution this year - the audience is all schoolchildren who are brought down to help in the demonstrations. It is usually good.

We didn't think there was much on, though we watched the programme about Raymond Briggs, and his film depiction of his parents. )ot: We watched all the episodes of Battleship prior to Christmas. The programme about Amanda and Clive Owen in North Yorkshire was watched, but rather a repetition of previous documentaries about them.

We watched the programme about Andrew Bocelli, which I found somewhat disappointing.

However, on Travel Chanel, I have been binge watching Alaska the Last Frontier, and Alaskan Bush People. The latter take some believing, and the reviews are scathing.

For us there was not a lot to suit our taste.

It seems that most people agree with Spreckly. I thought that the TV was dreadful over the Christmas period. I personally wanted something festive and cheerful to give me a happy feeling. Most of what was on were repeats, some from years ago which I enjoyed at the time but now seem so outdated. Nothing I would recommend.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

We have watched that. Very well put together and made. So many unanswered questions for the family still remain.

Yes, I really enjoyed Mrs Wilson too - all very intriguing!! We've finally got round to watching Killing Eve, I think we watched about 5 episodes last weekend. Quite gory but she's a very amusing killer {rofwl}
Apart from Call the Midwife I don't think there was anything particularly entertaining over the Christmas period itself }hairout{ Still found some of the old repeat's quite good though even many many years later.

I had forgotten Call the Midwife, watched it on Iplayer.

The Yorkshire Vet tribute to James Herriott was excellent. When OH first lived in North Yorkshire, Jim Wight was his vet, and he saw Alf Wight in the surgery area. This was before the new surgery was built.
