Chang

Has anyone read or got a copy of Chang? We had a copy at home, and I cannot find it anywhere. From the internet, I gather that it was a popular school book in the fifties. My parents were teachers, so we had everything on educational lines, even our holiday to London in 1953 was complete with our I Spy books to educate us.

The story is about an elephant called Chang, and the plae where the elephants go todie. I thought the author might be Kipling, but when I typed it in, it was not.

I don't remember it but a quick google and I came across this:

Chang by Elizabeth Morse (about a boy and an elephant and the place where elephants go to die) It is obviously out of print (originally published in the 1930s) so when searching for availability, the prices are very expensive.

I was an avid I Spy fan,
Never actually sent off my books for feathers. But went round pestering people for the breed of their dog etc.
My children and grandchildren also filled in my old books

Thank you Trev, looks very much like the book, which LL wrote about. I have used Abe books in the past, but will not buy it at present.
