I have been spending a lot of quality time with my documentary channels lately, and when I'm not fuelling my Mythbusters addiction I have been watching Ray Mears and Bear Grylls quite a lot.
After 6 weeks of extensive research (ie - watching them during the 4am feed to keep me awake ~eep~ ) I have decided I like Ray better. He seems much more real, I think Bear is a bit of a drama queen...what do you all think??

I have to say Bear went down in my estimation when I saw the episode he filmed on the west coast of Ireland. No Bear, you can't get lost there for a week - I'm pretty sure you would hit a pub if you walked for about half an hour in any direction!!

It's funny because my OH and I were talking about this not long ago....I much prefer Ray (though obviously from an eye candy point of view Bear scores more Lucy )t' ).
Recently I've just felt like Bear's programs are about Bear having a good time doing his survival thing....the sight of Bear climbing up a sheer rock face just makes me feel that if I was dropped into some of those places I might as well sit down and wait to shrivel up because there is no way I could do what he does......Ray gets involved with the local people if possible to see how they live in those environments and he gives survival advice that I feel I could use if the chips were down.

Was interested to read in the papers a couple of weeks ago that Ray Mears was actually consulted about a certain person who had shot people in the north recently, to aid the police in finding that man.

Ray reminds me of Adrian Chiles and Bear reminds me ....................
................................................where was I, :oops: he reminds me of action man!

I'm afraid I've not watched Bear since he ate the elephant doo doo. Surely he could have asked the camera crew for a drink of posh mineral water :-D

Well as everyone prior to your comment appears to have voted for Ray, I can only assume it is you who has voted for Bear, Richard, due to his resemblance to your good self.
